Shoulder Surgery
Shoulder Replacement
Shoulder joint replacement (total shoulder arthroplasty) is very successful at relieving shoulder joint pain, to help you resume everyday activities.
Rotator Cuff repair
Surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff involves re-attaching the tendon to the head of humerus (upper arm bone).
Surgery for shoulder dislocations
The shoulder joint is a ball and socket joint and the body’s most mobile joint, which allows you to position your hand in space 360 degrees around your body.
Shoulder Conditions
Shoulder arthritis
Arthritis is inflammation of one or more of your joints. In an arthritic shoulder, the inflammation leads to cartilage damage and loss which results in pain and stiffness.
Rotator Cuff
A rotator cuff tear is a common cause of shoulder pain and disability in adults. The rotator cuff tendons cover the head of the humerus, allowing you to lift and rotate your arm. When one of the rotator cuff tendons is torn, the tendon no longer attaches to the head of the humerus, which will cause weakness in your shoulder.
Shoulder Dislocation
A subluxation or partial dislocation is when the head of the humerus is partially out of the socket (glenoid). A dislocation means it is all the way out of the socket. Both cause pain and instability in the shoulder.
Shoulder Impingement
Shoulder impingement is one of the most common problems seen with the shoulder, and a frequent source of pain. It is a result of a conflict involving the rotator cuff tendons, the bursa and the bones. It may also be called rotator cuff tendonitis or bursitis.
